How to Test Yourself for ADHD — Free & Fast

Online & offline ways to test your ADHD at home

Hey friend,

I’m sure — even if you don’t have ADHD — this newsletter will help you go after your dreams, especially if you feel stuck.

But before I share more of my ADHD tricks, let’s figure out one thing first:

Do you have ADHD?

I’m not a doctor. But I do spend way too much time online. So, I found some easy tools you can use to check for ADHD right from home.

I’ve split them into two categories:
👉 Free tools
💸 Paid ones (in case you want something more in-depth)

You might ask, “Is testing online even a good idea?”

Here’s my take: If you're not sure whether you have ADHD, taking a quick online test is a great first step.

It might not give you a final answer, but it can help you decide whether it’s time to talk to a specialist.

But wait — before you jump in, you should know:

There are 3 types of ADHD.

No, not according to me (my list would be:

  1. “Can’t start things.”

  2. “Starts everything, finishes nothing.”

  3. “Hyperfocus goblin.”) 💩

Just kidding. Here are the real ones — according to DSM-5:

  1. Inattentive Type — You daydream a lot, miss details, forget stuff.

  2. Hyperactive-Impulsive Type — You’re always on the go, talk too much, interrupt people.

  3. Combined Type — Lucky you, you’ve got both like me 😜

DSM-5

The DSM-5 is like the official rulebook doctors use to diagnose mental health conditions. It’s trusted worldwide — kind of like the “Bible” for psychiatrists — so if it’s in there, it’s taken seriously.

Now that you know, go take the test!

These tools usually give you instant results.

So what's next?

After taking a bunch of online tests, I pretty much concluded on my own that I have ADHD. I tried all the free ones — this was about a year ago.

I even asked my cousin to try them too — and according to the results, he’s ADHD-free. 😄

So, if your result leans toward ADHD, that alone can help you understand yourself better.

And if you want to talk to a doctor after that—go for it. You’re not alone.

Just to be clear: I’m not trying to convince anyone to avoid seeing a specialist by sharing online tools. I never did that — and I never will. I’m only here to help. 🙂
