The One Trick That Helped Me Most with ADHD
ADHD or not — this works for everyone
Hey friend,
This is Issue #4.
That means I’ve been writing for a month straight.
Crazy thing is, the old me couldn’t imagine doing something like this every week.
But here I am, writing again.
Not because I fixed my ADHD.
But because I finally found something that works better than any system, app, or productivity trick.
And that’s what I want to share with you today.
🧠 The Real Trick
Let me be brutally honest with you.
There isn’t one big thing that changed my life.
I didn’t wake up one day, fix my sleep, or suddenly master a routine.
What helped me the most?
And continues to help me?
This mindset:
I never stopped thinking about how to get better.
Even when I failed. Even when things went bad. Even when I felt lost.
This is what I call the "struggling mindset."
Not the kind of struggle that puts you down, but the kind that keeps you going, keeps you in the game.
This newsletter? It's proof of that mindset.
🛌 Let’s take sleep as an example.
A couple of months ago, I realized I can’t get better if I don’t fix my sleep first.
My focus, energy, and mood are tied to my sleep.
So I asked myself these questions at first:
Why don’t I sleep on time?
→ Because I like staying up.
Why do I like staying up?
→ Because I feel like I’ll miss something.
Why do I feel like that?
→ Because, as someone working from home, with my toddler at home, nighttime is the only time I get quiet without any distractions.
Then I thought:
“What if I could remove distractions during the day instead?”
So I tried working from cafés.
That helped a bit.
Then I missed my second monitor.
Then I missed my home setup.
I even thought about coworking spaces.
But taking my gear every day? No thanks.
So I came back to the same point:
Fixing my sleep is the only real solution.
Don’t worry! I'm still failing at it. 🙃
But the difference is:
I’m still working on it. I’m better now — but not perfect.
The point is:
I never stopped thinking about it.
Even when I failed, I stayed aware.
I didn’t give up on the problem.
It’s not about being perfect.
It’s about trying again and again.
👋 See you next time
If you’re reading this and thinking:
“Damn, I haven’t fixed anything either…”
Awesome. 👏
You’re exactly where you need to be.
You’re in the game.
You’re thinking about it.
You’re not done yet.
And that’s all that matters. Trust me!
Got your own sleep struggle?
Or your own version of the “struggling mindset”?
Hit reply and tell me. I read every message.
See you in the next issue.
Until then, stay in the struggle.
That’s where the magic is.
