How I Found Out I Have ADHD (And What Happened Next)

Hey friend,

Welcome to the first issue of my newsletter!

I’m Ali, a software engineer with almost 10 years of experience — and here’s something that changed my life:

Less than a year ago, I discovered I have ADHD.

How I found out

For most of my life, I thought ADHD was only for kids.

I had heard the name, but I didn’t think it had anything to do with adults.

Less than a year ago, I took some online ADHD tests.
I read articles.
I read books.

And then it all made sense.

Why it matters

At work, I often felt less smart than my coworkers.

I couldn’t plan like them.
I couldn’t stay organized.
Even small tasks felt too big sometimes.

I kept wondering, “Why can’t I do what they do?”

For years, I thought something was wrong with me. Now I know: it was ADHD all along.

💡 It was like turning on a light. Suddenly, I understood myself better.

Where I am now

I didn’t go to a doctor, and I’m not on medication.
But I’ve been working on myself.

No, I’m not “fixed.”
But I feel better.
I’m more confident at work.

And I know how to help myself when things get hard.

What you’ll get from this newsletter

My personal ADHD hacks.
I’ll share the real tips and tricks that help me stay on track.

They may not work for everyone, but they’ll give you ideas to test for yourself.

Tools made just for us.
I’m building a simple ADHD-friendly Pomodoro clock for Mac OS initially — and I’ll share it free with you, my newsletter readers.

I also plan to build and share more tools in the future. 😊

Why read this newsletter?

Because I’m just like you.
I’m not a doctor.
I’m not perfect.

I’m someone learning how to live and work with ADHD as a programmer.

And I want to share what’s working for me — so maybe it can help you too.

That’s my story.
Thank you for being here.

See you next week!

✌️ Ali
